AIMS Started in January 2004 by ex- and on-going drug users/addicts to help improve waiting times for those wanting help in stabilising or stopping drug use. By ‘drugs’ we mean any substance taken to alter users’ perception of reality, including alcohol, glue/solvents, prescription medication, cigarettes, etc. STATUS Voluntary TARGET GROUP Ex- and on-going drug/users/addicts wanting help. MODELS OF PRACTICE • Latest information relating to drugs, their (side) effects and treatment • Advocacy services for those not happy with their treatment • Resource base of related information, including national detox and rehab directories • Support from people who’ve “been there” • A cuppa and a chat • Prisoner support • Produce ‘Morphin’ – our monthly-ish newsletter • Online directory of local treatment/support services in printer friendly format; discussion forum; links to other related sites Get in touch for some help, to get involved or to submit an article, etc. for the newsletter |
